Lost Kings Interview

I had the opportunity to talk to two of the hottest DJs out there right now. If you haven’t heard of them yet, you definitely will in the future. Here’s a little bit about the guys:

How did you guys start producing music?
We both had been playing instruments since we were kids. I went from being in bands to fooling around with different music programs once I got into college.

How do you decide which songs to remix?
Lately we are being asked to remix songs and we say yes or no but when we started we would either ask for stems or try and find an a capella we liked online.

What’s been your favorite venue where you guys have performed?
We really love playing in New York it’s like a second home for us. The crowds are always great when we go back and we are both from the east coast so we get to see friends and family there. Also Create in Los Angeles is one of the best venues we’ve played. The way it’s set up and the energy in there is awesome.

What can we expect with your upcoming original music?
It’s a great reflection of what we’ve done with the remixes. We’ve got a nu disco track, a chiller track, and a progressive track. We really just wanted to make great music and not try and make the EP one specific genre.

Who are some artists who you would like to collaborate with?
The Don aka Don Diablo. We love everything he’s putting out right now. Love Galantis. Would love to obviously have The Weeknd on a track as well.

If you had to choose one, which is your favorite remix you’ve done? Lately we have fallen in love again with the Imagine Dragons Remix. It is really big sounding when we play it out so we love the reaction it gets. Also we have some new unreleased remixes that really stand out to us as being special.

Team Meek Mill or Team Drake?
Obviously Drake, can’t align ourselves with a losing team!
